Purdue Extension is hosting a MarketReady training session from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET Sept. 18 in Greensburg. As Indiana’s local food producers look to expand into new marketing channels, this program provides the tools and resources necessary to thrive in today’s marketplace.
Indiana uses an assessment standard for property taxes called “market value in use.” The assessment is the value of the property decided by the county assessor for tax purposes. It’s a prediction of what the house could sell for, on the open market, if it continues in its current use. How much would a stranger pay for your house, if they want to live in it, and not convert it to some other purpose?

Purdue Extension will host a pasture ecology workshop June 18 at the Southern Indiana Purdue Ag Center (SIPAC) in collaboration with the Indiana Forage Council and the Indiana Beef Cattle Association. The workshop will examine the complex relationships between the livestock, forage and soil that make up grazing pastures.
